A great city containing a huge number of people. This city is the center of the military's operations and contains homes and businesses. It is the capital of Amestris.

Youswell is a mining town that was once owned by the military. Under it's rule the military gave the workers outrageous taxes, but now the town is owned by a friend of the Elric Brothers.

a city in the Northern region of Amestris and serves as the State Military command center for the area. Located to the south of the Briggs Mountain Range, North City is a picturesque town blanketed in snow for much of the year.

West City is a city in the western region of Amestris and serves as the military command headquarters for the area. It seems to be constantly under threat by Creta forces.

A city in the eastern region of Amestris, which serves as the military command base for the area. Though considered by many as a "backwater" place with little future, East City boasts what is recognized as Amestris' strongest offensive force.

The main military hub and cultural center for the southern region of Amestris. Located to the south of Dublith, it is a place famous for its sightseeing and tourist attractions.

The famous Rush Valley is the automail capital of the world. This is the place you want to come to for a new limb or just a tune up.

| Aerugo
Aerugo is a nation that borders Amestris to the south and continually engages in territorial skirmishes between the two countries. Notably, Aerugo involved itself in the Ishval Civil War by providing Ishvalan soldiers with small arms whose model numbers had been effaced. But when Ishvalan refugees implored Aerugo to grant them sanctuary from the massacre, the Aerugonian government balked at assisting them and disavowed all knowledge of smuggling in weapons.

| Creta
Creta is a nation that borders Amestris to the west. Along with Aerugo, Creta continually engages Amestris in border disputes and a great deal of blood has been shed by both sides in their long history as military enemies.

| Drachma
The large and mostly unknown country due north of Amestris. There have been many conflicts between Amestris and Drachma in the past.

| Xing
Xing is a large empire far to the east of Amestris, across the Great Desert and on the opposite side of the ruins of Xerxes. In reality, the nation of Xing is made up of fifty hereditary clans all under the rule of a single Emperor, who cements his rule by taking the daughter of each clan's chief to be his concubine and bear him an heir.

| Ishval
A region of Southeastern Amestris on the border of the Eastern Desert. Presumably once its own nation, owing to the vastly different cultural practices of Ishval's people and the general populace of greater Amestris as a whole, Ishval was likely absorbed as a part of Amestris' expansion policies. However, the region remains a point of contention and was ultimately razed as a result of the Ishval Civil War.
Existing in Amestris' relatively barren frontier and just shy of the Great Desert separating the western and eastern nations of the continent, Ishval has been described as a rather harsh land made of little more than rocks and sand; it has no significant natural resources and very little farmable land.

| The Great Desert (1 sub-board)
The Great Desert is an enormous desert that separated Ishval from Xing. In the middle of the desert lies the ruins of the city of Xerxes, which as legend has it vanished in a single night when the people of the city tried to gain the philosopher's stone. There used to be a rail line from Ishval across the desert to Xing but the sands covered it up and rendered it unusable.
