Full Name: Isaac Winston Pershing
Alias:Hydra
Alchemist Name:The Cleansing Water Alchemist
Homunculus Name:Hydra
Race: Homunculus
Age: 24
Height: 5'11
Weight: 205
Sex:Male
Appearance:Isaac is a very pale man, having spent most of his life sick, his Homunculus body kept the tone sickness usually reduced him to. He has narrow eyes that are the only trait he inherited from his mother who came from Xing. His eyes are a light green, though his pupils are slit like most Homunculi. He has short brown hair that he keeps combed and parted to the right and a trim mustache under his nose. His hair has a little bit of gray in it from having been sick for almost his whole life before turning himself into a Homunculus.
Although he has a somewhat broad build, Isaac is not one who would be described as muscular. His left arm doesn't seem to move very often and is much weaker than his right. The reason is that the inside of his left arm is mostly hollow, allowing it to hold water throughout it. On his palm is what looks like a long cut, but it can open to the same diameter as his wrist in order to either suck in water or release water held. He walks with near perfect posture, but when he sits he slouches to a great degree. His hands seem to shake a lot when he sits still, and he can seem rather fidgety if he is just standing still or sitting. Although it is now mostly psychosomatic since his Homunculus body's lungs are fine, he is prone to coughing fits in situations of extreme stress.
Normally Isaac can be found wearing a brown tweed suit jacket and matching tweed bowler hat. Under the jacket he wears a black button down vest over a white dress shirt and light blue tie. His pants are generally khaki or black, on his feet are black boots that he does not have his pants tucked into. On his face he wears a pair of small round glasses for distance. In the inside pocket of his jacket he always has the pocket watch given to him once he became a state alchemist.

Weapon: An umbrella-sword with a 780mm blade. The handle and shaft is made of a dark reddish brown wood, with the canvas part being black. The blade is thin and very sharp, made more for stabbing than slashing, though it can cut. By turning a ring on the handle the shaft detaches which allows the umbrella part to be slid off, revealing the blade.
Character Abilities
Alchemic Ability:When he could perform Alchemy, Isaac focused mostly on medical and chimeric alchemy. His specialty was fast healing lacerations and other flesh wounds. Worn around his belt with more in a messenger bag he carried, Isaac had many flasks filled with a mixture of the components needed to create human flesh, the most predominant being water. He would pour the mixture over a wound, and then cover it with a towel baring the special transmutation circle. When activated the mixture would fill in the wounds it was spread over, sealing them, although the sensation of new nerves being formed and attached to the existing ones was considered terrible sensation. His obsession before becoming an Alchemist was finding away to create new limbs for people. Since he was not trying to bring people back to life or create life, he never saw the Gate or the Truth when using this Alchemy.
Homunculus Ability: His affiliation for healing and water carried over once he became an alchemist. From the 'mouth' on the palm of his left hand water flows out, drawing to itself water vapor in the immediate air around him. The water will then take the form of a chimeric beast (the form differs almost every time, but its abilities are always the same) that is able to hit with the force of a high powered hose. If the water chimera exceeds an 100 yard distance from Isaac it simply loses form and falls to the ground as normal water. Isaac controls the form with his hands, and as such needs them free in order to make it do anything but stand there. If in an extra dry area like a desert, the water chimera can only take the form of something small like a bird, in areas with a normal level humidity, lion sized, and in areas around bodies of water, something about 10 feet tall, though never any bigger. He can only control the water in a fluid form, and if it was frozen it would take him about 30 seconds to get the molecules moving enough to cause it to melt.
Only with the water from his left arm, Isaac briefly give another regenerative qualities on par with a new Homunculus, though as they heal, the material is taken from Isaac's right arm, causing tremendous pain to himself and is fairly energy draining. He can only heal the equivalent of his right arm, which takes about 10 minutes to regenerate from this technique. He douses the subject in water than puts his right arm on the wound, which starts the process. Like with his own regenerative abilities, he can only heal non vital organs.
Ouroboros Location: On the back of his neck.
Chimera Transformation:
Physical Fighting Abilities:When fighting with his sword and with his water chimeras, he is always aiming to subdue, not kill, causing his attacks to sometimes be slow, especially with his sword. If caught without a weapon and without a water chimera, about the only thing Isaac has going for him is regeneration. His whole life generally being dedicated to healing, he has neglected to learn how to fight properly.
Character Background
Personality: Isaac is ultimately a decent man, though the fact he's a Homunculus can make people think otherwise at first, depending on the area's social stigma. He is a doctor at heart, wanting to help as many people as possible. At first meeting, Isaac is friendly but very professional, referring to people strictly by title or Mister/Miss in till told otherwise. He laughs at jokes he doesn't find funny, he nods in agreement to things he doesn't agree with, in general, he tries not to have any sort of confrontation with people he has just met, mostly because since he moves around so much, chances are he won't see them again.
If one gets to know Isaac, they would find he is a bit of a grouch. To those he is comfortable with, he can be found grumbling about the state of the world, or making fun of stupid ways people get injured behind their back. Isaac is loyal to his friends, and about the only time he will fight other than to protect his own hide is to help a friend in need. He likes to give advice to those he considers friends, attempting to improve their lives in whatever way he can, which makes him a bit of a busybody sometimes. He is not loyal to any nation or government at the moment, preferring to move from town to town doing what he can to help than moving on.
Likes and Dislikes: Isaac enjoys reading books, whether they be about alchemy, history, cooking, or fiction. He is also a big fan of food, never passing down the opportunity for a good meal if it presents itself. He likes sarcasm and jokes tending to be on the more dark and sick side, though stupid knock knock jokes can make him laugh at times. His favorite place in Amestris is North City seeing as he loves the snow.
Isaac avoids being anywhere near the Great Desert, hating both heat and being in exceptionally dry areas. He hates the smell of cigarette smoke and by extension, gets annoyed around smokers. Extreme risk takers and the suicidal are the same in Isaac's eyes, which is to say he gets annoyed by both groups' disregard for their own life.
Birth Place: West City
Current Location: Wandering doctor, though right now he keeps near the Creta/Amestris border do to the rising tensions.
History:Isaac Pershing was born with a weakened immune system, and from birth has been suffering from one sickness or another; ironic then, both his parents were doctors. Growing up with parents who were military doctors in West City ment that Isaac saw a lot of wounded people in his childhood. With the near constant border disputes, wounded soldiers were frequent guest at the Pershing family house. Isaac grew up reading whatever books he could get his hands on, since his constitution was too weak to play outside for too long. Eventually he got some basic books and training from a wounded State Alchemist, and from then on, he knew what he wanted to do, he wished to become a State Alchemist and advance the practice of medical alchemy.
When he was 19 he received his Pocket Watch and was officially made a State Alchemist. He spent much of his time on the road, trying to help out soldiers and civilians. For a rather large fee, we would occasionally make 'designer' pets for eccentric rich folk with chimeras. He amassed enough money to allow him to live a fairly affluent lifestyle on the road. But that all came to an end at the age of 23. While treating patient in North City he came down with what he thought was a bad cold, but after he started coughing up blood, Isaac knew he wasn't going to get better from this one. Buying a permanent room at a hotel, he started to be concerned about his own mortality. He put all his amassed money towards finding a way to cheat death, having seen to many people not go so peacefully into the eternal sleep.
Obtaining the knowledge of becoming a Homunculus, Isaac gave up his alchemy for a shot at immortality. Although he only now possessed a very small amount of money and was no longer a state alchemist (officially on record as having disappeared during sick leave, presumably dead since last reported prognoses wasn't good.) Adopting the name Hydra, he is now traveling the country experimenting with his new abilities and trying to do what he has always done, help out those that need it.
Conclusion
Roleplay Sample: “Tsk, you need pay more attention when performing your job. “ Hydra spoke in a joking tone as he wrapped a piece of cloth over his patient's eyes, not wanting the patient to see how exactly he was being healed. The now blindfolded man, a large butcher of a small border town, grunted in annoyance at the comment. The butcher was laying on his bed in his room at the back of his shop. It was small and lit only by a candle and the starlight outside the window.
A small explosion in the distance from yet another skirmish had distracted him and now 3 of his fingers were gone. Hydra let out a small sigh as he held his left palm over the wounded hand. The slit on the palm opened wide as clear water splashed on the nubs of the missing fingers. As he reached out and touched the nubs with his right hand, he bit down hard on his left pointer finger, hoping to focus on that pain than the pain that was about to come. Red energy sparked around the wound and his right hand as his fingers slowly deteriorated and the butchers hand was restored.
Panting in pain, Hydra got up and left the room. He leaned against the wall outside and slid into a sitting position, cradling his right hand as slowly his fingers started to reform. He felt the familiar sensation of his throat tightening before lowered his head and let out a hacking cough. The butcher came running out of his room, wiggling his fingers in amazement.
“That's incredible! Is there anyway I can repay you, anyway at all?”
Hydra slowly pulled himself up, his fingers having regenerated. “No need, Mr. Vickers” He walked to the table and picked up his hat, though as he began to place it on his head, he froze at something the Butcher said next.
“At least let me treat you to dinner, best cut of meat in the store.”
Hydra's eyebrows rose as a smile crept upon his face. Placing his hat back down on the oak table, he turned on his heel and looked back at the large man. “If you insist, Mister Vickers.” His voice betrayed a hint at just how excited he was at getting to eat something other than cheap pickups from markets. He reached into his tweed jacket pocket and pulled out his silver watch, popping it open, he watched the second hand tic away. “After we eat, do you think I could get some salted meat for the road?”
“Oh of course, Doctor Hydra sir!” Vickers clapped his massive hands together and moved to the front of his shop, grabbing his knife he began working on his payment to the man who gave him back his fingers. In the middle room of the shop, Hydra sat down at the table and flipped his watch open and closed idly, thinking to himself just how good his luck was in this case.
