Alias: Sora (as a petname)
Homunculus Name: Sorrow
Race: Homunculus
Age: 16-17 yrs
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 136 lbs.
Sex: female
Appearance: Sorrow has brick brown hair tied into two pigtails that hang low. She wears a pale blue top with long, wide sleeves that cover her hands, black knee-length pants, and an ouroboros tattoo on her left cheek. Her eyes are grayish blue, and on her feet are open toe and ball socks that go to her ankles.
Weapon: Sorrow uses her powers as a weapon.
Character Abilities
Homunculus Ability: Sorrow’s power is to change her body into ice, make armor out of ice, grow wings of ice (yeah, yeah, bleach moment).
Ouroboros Location: Left cheek.
Physical Fighting Abilities: Weapon style
Character Background
Personality: Sorrow at first appears to be cold and emotionless. However, when getting to know her better, she is very caring and tender, if not somewhat strict. She had a tough streak to her, which means she’s no pushover. She hides her identity as a homunculus in order to blend better with the crowd. She is ashamed of her being a homunculus, as she became one for emotional reasons. Thus because of this, she keeps high taps on her emotions, never letting herself be expressed. Once she had her heart on her sleeve, and now she steel-traps it in a forty foot thick wall of solid cement. Also, minus her rough spots, she can also be rather silly, especially around children, as she adores them and finds them so cute.
Likes and Dislikes: Despite her own feelings, she feels people should be more open about themselves. She is freaked out by insane people and fire, often getting paralyzed on the spot. She hates squirrels (and will chase them with a mallet, chibi style), but she loves raspberries, often smelling like them. She hates being around depressed people, and she will pep talk them out of it (or slap them out of it). She also doesn’t like immature people, telling them to grow up. However, she is a sucker for good-looking guys, and she can be rather childish herself.
Birth Place: Aerugo
Current Location: Amestris
History: Sorrow was a young girl with a big heart and even bigger dreams. These dreams came crashing down one day when she came down with an incurable disease that soon robbed her off her freedom to do things on her own. Her father, an alchemist, read Ling’s book and thought if he could turn his daughter into a homunculus, he could save her. But her mother protested, saying Sorrow (that time Kody) would lose her humanity. Sorrow’s father was grief-stricken, but all the same he complied. Later, however, the father began to think of the transformation again, this time having become more tempting. He then went out of his way to turn his dying daughter into an immortal homunculus. When the mother found out, she was horrified, and she couldn’t look at Sorrow the same. Sorrow’s father promised the woman he would change her back, because, look, he started to research the reverse, and soon, Sorrow will be human again. That research was never completed, for a greedy alchemist, an old rival of the father’s, stole the research and killed her parents. He attempted to kill Sorrow when the police arrived, letting the alchemist escape. Sorrow was taken to an institiute where they did experiments on her to see if she, a homunculus, would be of any use. However, a small band of misfit homunculi broke in, and the leader, Miser, offered Sorrow a job as a free homunculus. Sorrow accepted, taking on her name.
Conclusion
Roleplay Sample:
Sorrow glanced out the window of the train. Slowly, she touched her cheek where the bandage was set in place in order to hide her identity of what she was. This was her third trip to Amestris, where the secrets of a lost civilization lay in wait. Miser had been pretty clear on how he wanted things done.
A chill ran down her spine, and she sighed, breathing out a poof of cold air. Her natural ice alchemy was interesting, as when she was a human, she often crafted things off ice, having been more fond of winter and snow than summer and heat. Still working on her abilities, she could make cold air come out of her mouth, like an icy breath, create snow, and her most favorite, create ice sculptures.
A little gasp beside her sounded, and Sorrow turned to look at a little boy who was staring wide eyed at the homunculus’s cold breath.
“How’d you do that?” he asked in wonder.
Sorrow, unlike most homunculi, saw no difference between humans and homunculi, and thus she felt no resentment towards them. Smiling, she said playfully, “It’s a special trick. Alchemy. You heard of it?”
The little boy bobbed his head up and down with a broad smile.
Sorrow winked. “Well, then, if you practice ice-type alchemy like myself, you’ll get just as good.”
“Really?” the little boy asked, his eyes now sparkling.
Sorrow smiled. “Really.” She hoped, however, for his sake he never got as good as she was.
